Simple Chocolate Tart
This is a simple and rich chocolate tart created from only a few ingredients. It’s suitable for any occasion and you will always shine, as it’s really the most amazing dessert. It’s simple and so tasty.
If you are using dark chocolate either dairy or dairy free version then remember the highest percentage better, as dark chocolate is a great source of iron and magnesium. Also, canned coconut milk is saturated fat however very rich in vitamins and minerals..
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 2-4 hours to set
Ingredients:
Base
250-300g ground almonds (you can also use almond flour, it's the same thing)
1/2 cup of cacao powder
1/3 maple syrup (honey or date syrup)
3 tbsp coconut oil (melted)
Filling
210g dark chocolate (dairy or non dairy)
400ml can coconut milk
Sea salt (for sprinkling on the top)
Option add some fresh fruit on the top
Method:
Firstly, add the can of coconut milk into the pot and heat on low heat and warm up. Once warm turn off the heat
and add the chocolate, then stir until well combined.
Now make the base by adding all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix until combined.
Pour the base into a 9 inch (23cm) tart tin and push down until compact (looking for roughly 0.3mm depth)
Pour the chocolate mix into the base, sprinkle salt over the top and place in the fridge for 2-4 hours to firm up.
Optional: serve with fresh fruit on a top and perhaps some cream or ice cream if you fancy it.
