Who Am I and Why did I Decide to Change My Lifestyle?
Hello everyone!!
As you are visiting my blog, I really would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Veronika and I am one ordinary Czech girl who has been living in the UK for the last 15 years. Yeah, you read it right, I have decided to leave my native country and explore the world. The original plan was to stay only for one year, but that kind of didn’t work out.
I would like this blog to be a community for everyone who loves good and fresh food, as well as everyone who just wants to read my posts and hopefully get some information out of them.
I am certainly not a famous writer and English isn’t my first language, therefore you may find some spelling mistakes, but this is who I am, and I can only do my best, right.
And now onto why my lifestyle has changed for better. I have always used to be active and used to do lot of cooking and baking, but years ago there weren’t such things as gluten free, coconut sugar, etc. or maybe there were, but I had no idea ?. However, something has changed 4 years ago when I have received a phone call from my very best friend who is living in Czech Republic, saying to me ensure that you sit down. I have said to her, “yeah, I have sat down” and then was trying to get the news out of her; I said “you are pregnant” but unfortunately it wasn’t such lovely news. She has announced to me that they have found a tumour on her brain and at that point I have just completely frozen and couldn’t get any words out of my mouth. We were 27 back then and I just couldn’t believe how it has even happened, she was so young and successful, ready to get married. Also, few months later my uncle got diagnosed with the same diagnoses and my nan with the cervical cancer, and it just kept coming.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
I felt so far away from all these important people because I wasn’t there when they needed me the most. I know that the family members were there, but I just wasn’t and that’s what was the most challenging thing which I have experienced so far whilst living abroad.
However, let’s go back to why I have changed my lifestyle for better, it was all because of my best friend. She has shown me that our bodies will pay us back depending on what we put in them. She went fully vegetarian and sugar free and the results of her tumour which she calls ‘Evzen’ are coming back clearer, even that it hasn’t gone completely. She has given me the courage to change my life and hopefully help me to battle my own health challenges with acne and cervical abnormal cells which I have been suffering with since a young age.
Since all the challenging tings which have happened in my life, it actually made me realise that ‘We Are What We Eat’ and how we treat our body then it will treat us back in the same way. I am not going to lie, I am still battling with acne and cervical abnormal cells, however in the last 4 years, it has improved rapidly. Food plays a big role in our life and it’s important that we feed our bodies with food which is full of vitamins and nutrition goodies, as you never know, it can have a huge impact on our health. I really would like to give other people an encouragement and motivation to maybe start and changing their lifestyle for better.
